Popular Nigerian singer Waje has shared heartfelt advice to young people navigating their 20s, reminding them that life is a journey of continuous learning and growth.
In a touching message posted on her Instagram page, the soulful vocalist addressed her note to “20-something girls and boys,” urging them to take a moment to breathe amidst the pressures of decision-making, avoiding mistakes, and chasing dreams.
She wrote:
> “I know life is moving fast, decisions to make, avoiding mistakes, chasing dreams and expectations. Constantly comparing yourself and trying to prove yourself. That’s okay, you’re not alone.”
Waje went on to encourage them to embrace their unique timeline:
> “Life stretches us in ways we don’t see coming but here are some truths – you will gain, you will lose, you will love deeply and outgrow people and parts of yourself. Sometimes you will feel behind, don’t! Your timeline is yours for a reason.”
The singer, who is in her 40s, also revealed that she is still figuring life out herself:
> “You can’t have everything figured out, how!!!!!! I’m in my 40s and still figuring 😂😂😂 (CAN I GET A WITNESS).”
She advised her followers to stay curious, keep learning, and protect their peace and energy.
> “What the world will call failure is growth, so give yourself some grace. Be kind to your body and your mind. Rest is not laziness and softness is not weakness.”
Waje concluded her message with words of reassurance:
