Speed Darlington's Abuja Antics: From "Virgin" Claims to NAPTIP's No-Nonsense Nudge!

Never a dull moment when self-proclaimed "ghetto president" Speed Darlington is in the house, or rather, when he's supposed to be in the house of justice! The controversial musician, known for his outlandish claims and viral moments, is currently in a high-stakes tango with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP) – and it's proving to be quite the show.

It all started when NAPTIP caught wind of a rather "disturbing video" featuring the "Bangdadang" crooner. In the video, Speed Darlington allegedly made a eyebrow-raising claim about having "carnal knowledge of a 15-year-old virgin." Naturally, this sent shockwaves through the online community and, more importantly, landed him squarely on NAPTIP's radar.

The agency swiftly dispatched an invitation, requesting his presence on May 30th for a little chat. But alas, Speed Darlington, ever the busy artiste, apparently found himself with a packed schedule. In a classic move of "it's not you, it's my commitments," he reportedly claimed the invitation was sent on "short notice" and suggested a more convenient date: June 26th. One can almost picture him with a calendar, meticulously circling the date, perhaps after a gig or a particularly intense "Akamu" session.

However, NAPTIP, it seems, isn't one for rescheduling around celebrity whims. In a strongly worded statement, the agency declared, in no uncertain terms, that they "cannot work with Speed Darlington's time" and have now "mandated him to honor its invitation unfailingly on Monday, June 2." Ouch! Talk about laying down the law.

The official NAPTIP letter, signed by one Hakeem Lawal, Director of Information and Communications Technology & Coordinator, Cybercrime Response Team, minced no words. It reminded Mr. Darlington Okoye (his real name, for those keeping score) that the issue was "a matter of urgent National importance that requires an urgent response" and that his "cooperation is very critical in this matter."

So, mark your calendars, folks! Monday, June 2, 2025, is the new D-Day for Speed Darlington to appear at NAPTIP's headquarters in Abuja. Will he show up, perhaps with another viral video in tow? Or will he conjure up another last-minute commitment? One thing's for sure: the internet, and likely NAPTIP, will be watching! Stay tuned for the next chapter in this fascinating saga of music, claims, and the long arm of the law.
