Speed Darlington Responds! "Virgin" Claims Were Just For "Clout and Entertainment," Says Singer in Public Apology.

The saga of Speed Darlington and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP) continues to deliver more twists than a Nollywood thriller! After being mandated to appear before NAPTIP on June 2nd (which, by the way, is today!), the controversial musician, Darlington Okoye, has dropped a public note addressing the very serious allegations against him. And let's just say, it's classic Speed Darlington.

In a letter addressed to the Director General of NAPTIP, Mr. Ngamaraju Titus Mangzha, Speed Darlington acknowledges receipt of the invitation regarding "alleged sexual offences involving minors." But then, the real fun begins.

Our "ghetto president," ever the wordsmith, states that he is a "law-abiding citizen and a man raised by martinet parents under the highest ethical and moral standard." He vehemently denies ever engaging in "sexual predation, sexual violation or any form of untoward act against the opposite sex." So, what about that "disturbing video" and the claims of "carnal knowledge of a 15-year-old virgin" that got him into this pickle?

According to Speed Darlington, "For the sake of clarity, I reiterate that the said Instagram video was made for purely entertainment purpose only and does not reflect any previous or future event involving my person with any female; minor or Major." He adds, rather dismissively, "Sadly, what was meant to be a joke has been blown out of proportion by persons looking for fault where none exists."

Ah, the old "it was just a joke" defense! Apparently, our favourite internet sensation was simply aiming for "clout and entertainment purposes." He even offered a "profound apology for any bad blood or misunderstanding my innocuous actions may have caused the online community, but to the discerning, the video was only for clout and entertainment purposes." It seems he's simultaneously apologizing while subtly suggesting those who took it seriously just don't get his genius.

The letter concludes with a commitment to "avail myself at the Agency's office on June 26th, 2025," which is the date he initially suggested, pushing back from NAPTIP's mandated June 2nd appearance. It remains to be seen if NAPTIP will accept this rescheduled date, given their previous firm stance.

So, is this a genuine retraction or just another performance? Is Speed Darlington truly sorry, or is he simply trying to smooth things over with the authorities? One thing is clear: the "Bangdadang" hitmaker knows how to keep us entertained, even when facing serious accusations. The public, and certainly NAPTIP, will be eagerly awaiting his next move. Stay tuned for more updates on this truly unforgettable celebrity lega
